In-running Lays: Back-to-lay Red Pike and Poyle Vinnie

Jemayel

Above: Rouget's Jemayel winning the group one Prix Saint-Alary in May takes on Minding in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood.

3.45 Goodwood: Red Pike and Poyle Vinnie have been highly competitive in sprint handicaps and will both start at 50+ in this 28-runner race. Red Pike has a great draw in stall 5 and should be right up with the leaders while Poyle Vinnie has the widest draw of all in 28; both race up with the pace and you could back-to-lay both to make 1.5 points on each. Poyle Vinnie currently trades around 80.0 (owing to his poor draw) while Red Pike trades at 50.0. Also of interest is Kimbrella who is in great form; he currently trades around 17.0.

3.10 Goodwood: Minding looks way clear on the ratings in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood, but there are good reasons to think Rouget’s Jemayel could be the one to chase her home. Swiss Range and Jemayel finished 8th and 9th respectively in the Prix De Diane and while Swiss Range enjoyed a good trip racing up with the pace, maybe to eagerly, Jemayel was repeatedly stopped in her run having looked likely to be involved in the finish after travelling well. Alongside Minding she is the only other group one winner in the field. With Rouget’s current form with fillies he has been sending over to the UK she looks a great bet to turn the tables on Swiss Range; she is currently 20/1 with the bookies paying ¼ the odds for a place in the first two of this 5 runner race.
