In-running Lays: Back-to-lay Olivers Hill, Harry The Viking and Scotswell

2.10 Leicester: Olivers Hill has won his last two races here at Leicester over 2m4f and steps up to 2m6f today. He’s up 11lb for that win, but he won so easily so it was to be expected. Though the weight could stop him from winning he should still be competitive despite the rise in the handicap at a track he clearly likes and over quick ground. He has been racing prominently and leading during his last two wins and doing so again should see him trade low in the latter stages; he currently trades around 4.70- for a back-to-lay.

2.50 Catterick: The North Yorkshire Grand National at Catterick sees some familiar names line up in the race over 3m6f with Harry The Viking and Scotswell appealing at decent prices. Both are front-runners and have hit form recently. The 2015 winner Scotswell is racing off a 1lb lower mark than when he won this race and although he hasn’t won since May last year he has traded below 20% of his BSP in-running in 3 of his last 4 races; he currently trades around 11.50 for a back-to-lay.

Harry The Viking won last time out and is punished 7lb, but he won very easily and was eased down on the run in, so a 7lb rise doesn’t seem harsh. He is an out and out stayer and will be dropping down a couple of furlongs after winning the Scottish Borders National over 4 miles and with now regular partner Rachel McDonald claiming 7lb he should be thereabouts; he currently trades around 17.0 for a back-to-lay.
