In-running Lays: Back-to-lay Boher Call, Amiral Collonges and Albert Dolivate

Boher Call

Above: Boher Call looks to win the 2.20 at Naas for the second time.

2.10 Fontwell: Amiral Collonges went close last time when upped to 3m3½f, finishing second to Gonalston Cloud. He traded down to 1.50 in-running from a BSP of 11.58. This time last year he was racing off 124 but was dropped to 109 for that last run. He now races off 111 after that improved performance but has 5lb claimer William Featherstone on today to negate the rise. Racing prominently has seen him trade to lower levels so another positive could see him trade low again. His trainer James Evans hasn’t had a winner for a long time but his horses are trading low in-running without winning (5 of his last 7 runners have traded below at least half their BSP); he currently trades around 5.80 for a back-to-lay.

2.20 Naas: Last year’s winner Boher Call comes in to this year’s race just 2lb worse off. 2 miles on soft/heavy looks to suit and apart from his seasonal debut this year he has finished 1st and 2nd over course and distance. He always races prominently, though when winning this race last year he was given a more patient ride where he was produced at the last to win; he currently trades around 8.0 for a back-to-lay.

2.30 Chepstow: Albert D’Olivate, gets outpaced in his races but relishes a testing uphill finish. He was a hurdles winner here in March last year in very testing ground, where he traded as big as 32.0 from a BSP of 2.96. He ran a poor race last time at Uttoxeter, but that was on a flat track where his jumping let him down. On really heavy ground here at Chepstow’s testing course he has a great chance to go close and you could get on a lot bigger in-running if he gets out-paced as usual. His trainer Robert Walford is in great form with his last two runners winning at BSP’s of 5.70 and 13.0; he currently trades around 8.80 for a back-to-lay.
