Kings Bandit Could Benefit From Pipe's Poor Form

Gordon Elliott

2.20 Ayr: Starchitect is the class act in this race, but it may be worth taking him on as David Pipe’s horses are running poorly, and this odds-on shot makes up over half the market. You have to go all the way back to the 1sy of January for his last winner and with 24 runners since including a 1/3 shot being beaten three days ago he’s really struggling. Clan Legend does stand out on the in-running stats but he’s penalised for his novice win last time out and is one of the lower rated horses in this field.

Gordon Elliott’s horses are flying and could be worth chancing Kings Bandit who left Donald McCain’s yard last year to join the Gold Cup winning trainer. On the his hurdle handicap rating he’s not that far behind the favourite and it’s possible he’s taken well to his new surroundings and has improved upon his previous form under Donald McCain in Britain; he currently trades around 5.20.
