4.05 Clonmel: Goulane Chosen ventures in to a handicap for the first time carrying top weight of 11-7 with a rating of 115. He has some good performances in decent novice chases and as a hurdler ran to a rating of 119 in a grade 2 at Thurles. He travels well in his races and makes ground from the rear. He is 13 from 15 trading below at least half his BSP and while he is quite short around 3.90 you may be able to get bigger in-running; especially with Westerner Point likely to lead at a strong pace.
Westerner Point has been off for 2 months but ran well fresh first time out this season when making his chase debut. Since switching to the bigger obstacles he has been quite dominant in the lead, though last time he made many mistakes having jumped well on his previous 2 starts. The highly once rated Il Fenomeno has led in the past but is coming back from a 182 day lay-off. Westerner Point should have the lead in this race; he currently trades around 6.60.
