In-running Lays: Back-to-lay Signs of Blessing

Signs of Blessing

4.20 Ascot: This year’s Diamond Jubilee sees a small but select field take each other on. The pace looks most likely to come from the front-running Australian sprinter Holler and the lesser known French sprinter Signs of Blessing. While both appeal as back-to-lay’s it is Signs of Blessing that appeals the most at around 60.0 on Betfair.

While the French sprinters may not be known for being that quick, Signs of Blessing had turned in some impressive performances since being gelded at the end of 2015. His first start of 2016 saw him register a 5.5 length win on the poly-track at Chantilly before beating Finnsbury Square 6 lengths with horses like Catcall and Mirza way behind; he dominated those races from the front before pulling right away. While it’s hard to see him beating the market leaders he could run well for a long way for a back-to-lay if returning back to form after a below par run last time.
