In-running Lays: Back-to-lay Rigadin De Beauchene and Memories Galore

Rigadin De Beauchene

Above: The 2013 winner of the Betfred Classic Handicap Chase at Warwick Rigadin De Beauchene runs again.

1.25 Lingfield: Memories Galore has great record of trading low and although he has been racing over 5 furlongs recently he has a better record over 6 furlongs, including two wins, one over course and distance in 2015. He’s got a decent draw in 6 for a horse that likes to race prominently and his natural speed should see him travel well; he currently trades around 5.40 for back-to-lay.

3.35 Warwick: Both Rigadin De Beauchene and Houblon Des Obeaux appeal as back-to-lays in this 3m5f chase. Rigadin De Beauchene was a winner of this race in 2013 on a rating of 122, when catching Godsmejudge in the last strides; he now races off 127 and just scrapes in as bottom weight on 10-3. He now races a lot more aggressively and usually ends up leading in these types of races which has seen him trade below half his BSP in-running in 5 of his last 6 races; he currently trades around 25.0 for a back-to-lay.

Houblon Des Obeaux is near the top of the handicap carrying 11-12, but he bounced back to form last time carrying 11-7 in the Welsh Grand National, finishing 3rd. This was his first race after a long lay-off; he travelled really well for a long way, trading down to 2.50 in-running from a BSP of 40.0. Though he doesn’t have a great record of trading low he does look to be coming in to form again and could travel well in behind the leaders to trade low; he currently trades around 17.0 for a back-to-lay.
