2.30 Ascot: While the soft ground is likely to be a hindrance to much of the field; Belardo and the French pair should have no problems. Esoterique at 15/2 looks a great price to win this race. She finished second in this race last year to Solow on much quicker ground, she followed that up a second place finish in the group one Prix Maurice De Gheest over 6.5 furlongs before registering two group one wins. She should be spot on for this after a seasonal reappearance 12 days ago. Fellow French mare Ervedya and Lockinge winner Belardo look the others most likely to contest the finish.
5.00 Ascot: Mirsaale should start this 2 miles 4 furlongs handicap race at 30.0+ on the exchanges. Though he’s stepping up in distance he does race prominently and travel well in his races and importantly does handle soft ground. While the final few furlongs and a career high mark are likely to find him out he could well be leading and going well going in to the latter half of the race. A prominent position should see him trade low for a back-to-lay; he currently trades around 32.0 on Betfair.
