In-running Lays: Back-to-lay Ballynagour, Fago and Indastar

Ballynagour

Above: Ballynagour should travel well in behind Cue Card and Silviniaco Conti at Haydock.

3.00 Haydock: Ballynagour ran a decent race in the Charlie Hall Chase just 21 days ago on his seasonal appearance behind Cue Card and Dynaste. While he does find grade 1 company a little tough he does have place form and travels so well in his races often well detached before challenging late in his races. He is an impressive 9 from 10 trading below at least half his BSP and pushed Silviniaco Conti all the way in last year’s Betfred Bowl at Aintree. With a run under his belt he looks worth a back-to-lay at 14.0 to travel well in behind Silviniaco Conti and Cue Card who look likely to set the pace.

3.15 Ascot: Fago should come on a lot for his recent seasonal reappearance where he finished 2nd to Wakanda after travelling like the winner on the bit to tire quickly 2 out having traded down to 1.28 in-running after starting at an unfancied 11.50. He is 10 from 11 trading below at least half his BSP and flexible regarding his run style having led small fields but happy to be ridden patiently in bigger fields with more pace. He currently trades around 7.0 for a back-to-lay.

3.45 Lingfield: Indastar front ran last time and it nearly paid off until being caught in the last 50 yards to finish 6th after trading all the way down to 1.30 in-running from a BSP of 9.80. He is 13 from 16 trading below at least half his BSP and 12 from his last 13. 7lb Claimer Josh Doyle gets the ride again today in this class 6 handicap and should go close again; he currently trades around 4.10 for a back-to-lay.
