In-running Lays: Back-to-lay Ballybroker Bridge and Bonny Kate

3.30 Punchestown: Uncle Junior takes a big step down in class and distance in this Cross Country Chase. He is used to mixing it up with the best Cross Country Chasers and although his last 2 runs have seen him pulled up and slip on a sharp turn when travelling well upsides the winner, he could bounce back here. He usually gets detached and outpaced early in his races but makes up a lot of ground late in his races. While he doesn’t appeal as a back-to-lay, it could be worth trying to get on at a big price in-running as he is sure to be out the back early in the race for quite a way. He is currently trading around 5.0 but you should be able to get a lot bigger when if drops out the back.

Last year’s 20/1 winner of this race, Ballybroker Bridge was a bit of a surprise but followed up that win with some creditable performances since. He finished third in November’s Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham behind Josies Orders, racing just behind the leaders to lead 2 out. He just about made all last year and looks the pace here again and will probably try to make all with the market leaders being hold up horse he should trade low in-running; he currently trades around 8.0 for a back-to-lay.

4.05 Punchestown: Bonny Kate has traded below at least half her BSP in 9 of her 10 races to date. She is taking a big step up in distance to 3 and half miles having only raced as far as 2 miles 5 furlongs when winning last time out at Fairyhouse. This is also her first venture in to handicap company and races off 125, carrying 10-1. She usually leads and will probably again today and should travel well for a long way to trade low in-running before any possible stamina issues surface; she currently trades around 5.70 for a back-to-lay.
