In-running Lays: Back-to-lay Aristo Du Plessis at Musselburgh

Aristo Du Plessis

Above: Aristo Du Plessis has won on his last two visits to Musselburgh

3.00 Musselburgh: Aristo Du Plessis has gone up a massive 41lb in less than a year and now finds himself carrying top-weigh in a class 1 handicap. Soon time soon the handicapper will surely catch up with him but he won well last time and a 5lb rise shouldn’t stop him from running his usual race from the front. Viens Chercher has front run before, but Aristo Du Plessis just looks much quicker especially over this 1 mile 7 ½ furlong trip on good ground. He was a 12 length winner on good ground over course and distance in November, for which he was raised 13lb that didn’t stop him winning last time out. Claimer Diarmuid O’Regan, who won on him last time, takes off a helpful 5lb. He seems well supported in this tough handicap; he currently trades around 5.1 for a back-to-lay.
