In-running Lays: Back-to-lay Air Pilot and The Last Lion

2.15 York: Air Pilot is saddled with a 4lb penalty along with Tullius for wins in group threes this year. He ran over course and distance last time out in a group two to finish fourth to Time Test with Mondialiste in second which is decent form especially with the ground been a little too quick for him. Back on better ground and in lower grade he should be competitive, racing prominently to trade low for a back-to-lay; he currently trades around 11.5.

3.25 York: The Last Lion is by far the most exposed in this 2-year-old sprint race, but he is incredibly consistent and does bring in a fair level of form. In 6 races, he has either finished first or second (he was once disqualified from second place and placed third) in all his races. He finished second to Yalta last time out and twice to Prince Of Lir who both ran in yesterday’s group one sprint. He will be stepping up to 6 furlongs for the first time having raced over 5 furlongs but he should hold a good position throughout the race; he currently trades around 18.0 for a back-to-lay.

Cavale Doree beats Facilitate by 7 lengths at Deauville

3.15 Deauville: The Christophe Ferland trained Cavale Doree looks to have been under-estimated the UK bookies who were going 8/1 this morning for the group 3 Prix Du Calvados. She won her last race over 6 furlongs by an easy 7 lengths having trailed field until 2 furlongs out. This step up to 7 furlongs should really suit and while it’s hard to quantify the form, she did win in great style and looks like she could be a really good filly. She is currently hovering around 2/1 on the PMU very early but is still available at 6/1 with bookies in the UK, which should be much bigger than the final PMU return.
