In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Sir Valentino, Rum Swizzle and Flying Power

Tom George

Above: Tom George trains Sir Valentino, a horse who has traded below at least half it's BSP in all 12 races under rules.

2.15 Leicester: Sir Valentino has traded below at least half his BSP in all 12 of his races under rules. He is flexible regarding run style either travelling behind the leaders or held up in rear. He’s dropped down to a rating of 122 having won off 130 earlier this year and with claimer Jamie Bargarry taking off another 5lb he looks very competitive; he currently trades around 6.40 for a back-to-lay.

2.55 Wolverhampton: Rum Swizzle is taking a big step up in distance and while it’s hard to know whether the extra distance will suit for win purposes she should travel well for a long way. She has gone up 5lb for a win at Windsor last month but she seems to really like the Tapeta surface here as her two visits here have seen her trade down to 1.08 and 1.28 in-running; she currently trades around 6.40 for a back-to-lay.

4.55 Wolverhampton: Flying Power has steadily being dropping down the handicap from a high of 83 last September to a lowly 68 he goes off today. While his finishing positions have been quite poor he has consistently traded low in-running owing to his prominent style of racing; usually leading in his races. Prior to his last race where he found the soft ground not to his liking he had traded below at least half his BSP in the previous 10 races; he currently trades around 8.40 for a back-to-lay.
