In-Running Lays: Back-to-lay Belmount

Nigel twiston-Davies

Above: Nigel Twiston-Davies trains Belmount who should be more competitive today with a run under his belt this season.

1.00 Newbury: Belmount should be a lot better for his recent seasonal debut where he was pulled up after quickly tiring 4 out where he still managed to trade down to half his BSP in-running. He has a great in-running record trading down to at least half his BSP in 9 of his 11 races and in all 3 chases he has contested.

Belmount is usually ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies but in this amateur’s riders race he gets J. Slevin on board who claims the full 7lb allowance. He is versatile regarding run style and has been competitive in all but is last run where fitness was probably a factor having finished no worse than fourth in any of his previous 11 runs to date under rules. He currently trades around 10.0 for a back-to-lay.
